Desktop background color/wallpaper Unchangeable

Hello there,

I lately updated my laptop to Xubuntu 9.04. Everything works as usual except I can't change my desktop background color or wallpaper anymore. No matter what change I made in Applicants -> Settings -> Desktop, the backdrop remains unchanged. What should I do about it to reactivate the function?

PS:

There is no menu pops-up from a right-click on the desktop.

Same problem here. Too bad no one knows how to fix it.

I've figured out a remedy.

In terminal, type xfdesktop and run. This will let the Desktop to function again.

Choose "Save session for future logins" when you log out so that you don't have to do the same thing next time.
