This is a rallying cry for all of you. Currently Ubuntu (and Kubuntu) do not appear in the top 20 hits for the search for "linux desktop". Lets fix that and make our favourite linux desktop rock!

Cheers,

Corey

"linux desktop" (http://www.ubuntu.com)
^Thats how you do it.
Clicking on links will do nothing but, creating URLs linked with the keywords will get the google bot sniffing in your direction. Doing that over and over on the same site will cause the spam filter to kick in though so the only way to make it work is to do it on different sites but don't spam because Google can pick that up.

So, okay, this thread is really old, and I hate to bump really old threads for no reason. But. http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&q=desktop+linux&btnG=Google+Search

Looks like Ubuntu has moved up quite a bit in just over a year :) Yay! Go Ubuntu ;)

googling for "linux" lists ubuntu as the 3rd, after linux.org and the wikipedia page.

Kernel.org is 5th! The main page says linux 62 times!
