This is in reference to a program that I have been working on:
http://debreate.sourceforge.net/

I got an email about a suggestion but don't understand the option in question. It is titled "debreate apt error".

1 give an apt error to debian (apt-get update) :you need make that
optionaly to the deb file control
2 thank keep the gtk gui

I am replying to the sender but wanted to inquire here as well. Would anybody be able to explain this to me? If my question is not clear I will attempt to detail it better.

Here's my translation:

1) You need to make the option 'give an apt error to debian' optional in the generated deb file.

2) Thanks! Please keep using GTK in the future! (I'm assuming this personal prefers the GTK toolkit.)

I have no idea what the person in your email is talking about.

But I really like the idea of a deb gui package builder.

Does it also work for man pages?

It's beginning to sound like the question is over creating packages for a repository. I don't know much about that. But I'm going to check it out. If I understand, packages downloaded from a repository are a little different. Am I mistaken?

Not yet, but it will.

Cool!
Do you have a mailing list or something?
I got a program with manfiles,
that I wanted to be able to deploy as a deb.
But I really haven't bothered looking into this, package stuff.

As is I've just used ./configurer make make-install etc.

I just requested one at http://sourceforge.net/projects/debreate. It should be available within 24 hours. This is my first mailing list, so I apologize if it takes me a little while to figure out how to work it.
