As Ubuntu Hardy will be supported for two more years It would be very helpful if Openoffice could be upgraded from v2 to v3 as part of the regular updates, or very simply. (I am not into tarballs and terminal, bad expeience)
I have tried through the PPA as recommended in
http://www.rebelzero.com/ubuntu/ppa-for-openofficeorg-301-for-hardyintrepid/94
This does not work and have reinstalled 2.4 from the Hardy repos.
Like many Hardy users I would like to keep the same Ubuntu version as long as possible but have upgrades of the Openoffice software.
