I have a Zune and I like it, but since it is Microsoft, I can't use it in linux and I don't need windows for anything other than the software to sync it. That is why I am looking to buy something to replace it. At the bare minimum it must have 30GB of space and play mp3's.

Extra features that would be nice, but aren't required, are:
1. Support for pictures. jpg and png mostly
2. Support for mpeg4 video.
3. Support for podcasts.
4. FM Radio
5. OGG and/or Flac support would be nice in case I decide to switch from mp3 in the future.

Do you have any suggestions?

Sansa Sandisk Fuze is the way to go.Cheap price, great sound quality, linux support, support for microSDHC cards...
But its video isnt too good.
For more video support you can look to Cowon D2.It has also support for linux

Get a Cowon, they should be Linux compatible without exeption, it's just mounted as a drive hence doesn't need any special software.

Best thing about is that it even plays ogg/vorbis, that's the way to go.

There are many Linux-friendly music players out there.

But if you want to keep your Zune, just install Windows using a VM.

From what I have heard, the Samsung P3 is quite the dandy little player if you're okay with having a touch screen. Has every feature you requested (although the podcast support is a little shaky), plus a lot more. Supposed to sound phenomenal, too.

Down side is that it maxes out at only 32GB and is rather pricey ($300 for 32GB).

Thanks for all the replies. This looks like what is best for my needs:

Now I just need to find someone willing to buy my Zune and my Zune accessories. Anyone willing to buy a red 80GB Red Zune, TV tuner, car charger/radio transmitter, clear protective case, and carrying case?
