im in jaunty (recently updated, only booted 1ce before problem) and have gnome.
when I start the comp all fine..., skipping to the log in. when I reach the login screen I can't move the mouse and use the keyboard. (but the cursor for typing is blinking)
I think its a problem with X because I can boot into recovery mode and use the keyboard. I tried to restart /etc/init.d/gdm, but it didn't help. I searched for the x-org, x11, and so on (found them, but it didn't help much). I have no idea which one is actually the problem because I don't know what each of them are. An explanation of those too would be helpful.
Tried the X repair from recovery mode but it didn't work
Any help appreciated!
