Just did a new install of 9.01 and the xfce desktop won`t start. I get the blue screen with only the cursor. So I did Ctrl/F1 apt-update and apt-get dist-upgrade and restarted. Nothing but blue. Then I installed lxde and it does start. So it must be a xfce problem.Nvidia is not installed. Any suggestions on how to proceed to use xfce. Thanks.
Edit: Ran sudo apt-get remove xfce*, ran sudo apt-get install xfce to no avail. Reinstalled Xubuntu, this time not checking automatic log-in. Ran sudo apt-get update, sudo apt-get dist-upgrade. Restarted and so far so good.
