I installed jaunty 9.10 on a duel boot i now wished i didn't ten minutes into a new session it froze up the boot time was long and slow to start up i thought this distro was going to be faster ?
Has anybody else seen this?I did a clean burn of the operating system to disk it acted like vista after a month or so when i ran it any suggestions would be greatly appreciated to fix this don't get me wrong I'm one of Ubuntu greatest supporters it save my machine after the vista mess but from what seen it wouldn't be surprising to see Ubuntu have a bad day with it's first dud..........

Probably depends on your hardware which you don't mention. On my machine it's the best yet, and I have a 4 year old desktop, sempron 2400+, ati 9200se card and 1gb ram, so very middle of the road, but it boots in 20 - 22 secs to gdm, runs compiz very smoothly and all applications seem pretty well faultless to me.

What specs do you have? It might be possible to suggest a few tweaks to get things right.
