I've been using Ubuntu for about 1 year now, and everything has been working perfect.

Long story short, I upgraded my internet speed and received a new modem (i have DSL) I tried to install the new modem, but had too many problems, so I decided to stick with the old modem since the speed was the same.

When I tried to connect to my wireless network/internet after I put the old modem back, I was not able.

My computer recognizes wireless networks and sees mine, but when I say connect, it looks like its trying, but it does this for a few minutes, then it shows me my wireless connection details and to enter a network key, I have WEP for security.

I have triple checked my key # and entered, but it just does the same thing and never connects!!!!!

what can I do?

There are various types of keys. Are you choosing the correct one? For example, WEP 40 or 128 bit keys and pass-phrases are different. If you are not choosing the correct one the exact problem you are describing will happen.
