About two days ago I made the switch from Ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04. In 8.10 my Windows formated iPod used to sync up no problem. After I updated to 9.04 my gnome-volume-manager stopped working and now my iPod can't mount. I can tell my iPod isn't mounting because it doesn't display the "Do Not Disconnect" message, the batter display shows that it is being recharged however.

I took my computer to people at my college that are great with Linux computers. They ran a dmesg on it and the iPod doesn't show up at all. Also they attempted to run gnome-volume-manager which for whatever reason can't be run. I've uninstalled gnome-volume-manager on my synaptic package manager and then reinstalled it. Restarted my computer several times in hope that the process would start running again.

Also one forum recommend that I go under Preference > Removable Drives and Media but none of the options are remotely close to an iPod.
