i'm running eeebuntu on an eee 900a with a 16gb ssd. i use a couple of kde apps regularly. the disk space cost gets pretty extreme, for example a tiny little game like konquest with dependencies runs about a 100mb. same with amarok. is there a way to reduce their footprint by recompiling from source or are there some essential packages im missing to enable more interoperability with the equivalent gnome dependencies i already have installed? or should i just look harder for comparable gnome apps?
i don't really want to use kubuntu on my 9" screen but it's looking like that's my only option to continue using the software i like while keeping my disk space consumption down.
