Hi all, i need help installing tn5250 with graphical interface. The author or programmer didnt do such great job explaining how to install it or maybe im just not understanding part of it, atleast to me im pretty new to linux.

I downloaded the tn5250....tar.gz, uncompress it with the tar command, then i went ahead and read the README. I followed the commands:
./configure
make
su make install

it gave me errors, it was missing some libraries so i just went ahead and install them all that had to do with OpenSSL, and ncurse (or something) and few others. Then i did:

su make install and it successfully finised the process.

Now i want to see the graphical interface to connect to the AS/400, thats the whole purpose of the tn5250 to connect to the AS/400. This is where i need help.

When the author talks about "X Window" is he referring to the graphical interface?

Please help, i downloaded the tn5250 from here:

just install it via synatic, there no need for you to install it from source.
