Hi All
New to Linux, I'm a 20 year Mac clicker (hangs head sheepishly).
Recently decided to jump into the shark tank, so I bought an HP Pavillion laptop pre-loaded with XP pro and immediately signed up for an installfest with my local LUG (LUGOD) where the nice people graciously installed Ubuntu.
This is my first non-apple PC since the days of Windows 3.1.
So far, I find that I like Linux better, overall. It plays real nice on the LAN with my Macs and I'm willing to be more tolerant of my difficulties with it than with XP. I guess I have high expectations from a commercial OS. When I experience difficulties with Linux, I figure it's not bad considering the price. The same difficulty with XP has me cursing and reaching for my Mac.
Anyway, I'm not intending to rant or start any conflagrations. This is my first post to this forum and I'm glad to be here.
