I installed the new Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope. I tried to install packages and updates through the terminal. But, nothing worked. I figure it is because most of the sudo codes are for the older Ubuntu. I DON't KNOW! I couldn't even install VLC using the code from the VLC website. I couldn;t indtall any packages. Every code I used, the terminal gave me an error message: COULDN'T FIND PACKAGE or Unable to lock the download directory. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? Do I have to wait for new packages or what?

Hello there,

You may not have the appropriate repositories enabled to install the programs you're trying to get.

Go to System > Administration > Software Sources

From there you can enable extra repositories.

Good luck :)
