Something for those of us out there that use MySQL as their native database lanquage!

Found this whilst looking through general news today and had a slight shiver run down my spine!

You can bet that as soon as MySQL dies something will replace it born our of its own source code.
Oracle has not disabled its GPL

Lets hope as much, It will definitely affect hosting companies around the UK as MySQL is one of the most common languages supported as well as most open source PHP applications such as PHPBB, Wordpress and CMS's like Joomla and Mambo run off of MySQL database structures.

Lets hope what is born from the ashes is as productive as the earlier versions of MySQL as the latest releases have been disapointing at best.
