Hello all!

I have previously installed 8.10 onto my comp and have a little knowledge. It was uninstalled and now I have XP. 9.04 just came out so I decided to burn a live CD just to try it out. However the installer crashes whenever I boot a live session or the full installer. It loads about 1/6 of the way and hangs. Then it crashes to a shell.

Trying to run/install Ubuntu 9.10 Desktip i386 off a Live CD
md5 was okay for the .iso
Live CD error checker returned no errors

Dell Dimension Desktop 4500S
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP3
Intel Pentium 4 1.80 Ghz
640 MB Ram

Any help?

I am having a similar issue but with a more primitive laptop from Dell (inspiron 7000). However in my search for an answer I ran across this thread which might be helpful to you.
