using eeePC 901 with 12Gb SSD and 1G memory
I have loaded the live USB and it looks great. I am trying it out with live USB before installing.

It seems to work well Network, Wifi, file sharing - no problem. But it doesn't see or recognise the onboard webcam and the sound doesn't work.

I have downloaded skype and logged on but the sound test fails

Sound preferences on test give a bleep
Cheese tells me there is no webcam
looking at the news and clicking on a video clip (after downloading the drivers) shows the video but no sound or maybe a tiny 'squeak'.
Using the sound recorder there is no sound or maybe a tiny 'squeak'
watching bbc iplayer the volume is very low.

Where do I go to check the hardware present and to install and test the right drivers

Hello,

I am having the same problem: using eeepc 901 and Ubuntu NEtbook remix and webcam doesn't work. Cheese do not detect it.

What can I do in order to make it function?

Thank you

I am having a similar problem. I have got skype working and the test call working, but the sound is almost inaudible and the mic isn't picking up any sound hardly at all. I've googled around and found one person that resolved this by removing pulseaudio but that nukes the ubuntu-netbook-remix package and i'm extremely hesitant to do that. Any one have this problem? or a solution?
