I downloaded 8.10 (thats what I had laying around) to a cd and am installing from a cd. I know the install works as I just used it on my other desktop.

While installing to my laptop I chose to install it to my second hd (windows boots from the first harddrive) both ntfs file systems. Everything seemed to be going fine. The partitioner started, I figured 100 gigs should cover anything I would be doing, and hit forward. The box about writing to disk came up and all that. Since then the disk partitioner has been sitting on 0% (about 20 mins), the drive is a 320gb drive.

Is this normal? Secondly if it is in fact stuck how do I go about getting it to work? Thirdly is there a safe way to pull the plug on the install now that the partitioner is running without losing everything.

Note: since it was my secondary hard drive there are no system files..just movies and music.
