View Full Version : [ubuntu] upgraded to 9 ubuntu problems!!!!

i updated from 8 to 9 ubuntu and when ever i open any media, mp3-m4a-avi. it open totem then closes with no error????? happened with xubuntu as well
I have wiped and went back to 8 for now until someone can find out if this is a bug or if totem might need to be contacted!!!

no i did not try that but?? I was able to play mp3 in rythmbox????
wonder if there is a way to remove totem and have a nother multi player if it plays in rythmbox???
off to upgrade and try out this and my options!!!!:guitar:

well that did not work!!!!
hear is what i got so far
music files play when you put the mouse on them
i can play them in other players (vlc works)
movi (.avi) wont open in movie player or vlc player)
im lost now and i got to go to bed.
any other ideas???:confused:

!!!! I FIXED IT!!!!!
searching on the forum i found other people that had this problem from what it looks like they were using beta 9.04.
it looks like if you have a intel graphics card it causes a problem, I noticed i was not even able to aply basic desktop effects before i found this fix

well i tried out the beta release and now it does what is in the youtube video posted above...
and they closed this bug yesterday after i tested it, go figure

I upgraded to 9.04 final and Brasero won't burn any of my CD's but my media player works fine.:confused:

Ohhhh YOU ARE DA MAN!!! (Though the gdm restart kicked me into a terminal, but a quick sudo gdm --restart restarted X for me and now i am watching Dr. Who again. Google took me to a bunch of nothing, the Ubuntu forums brought me to you.
