[URGENT] Can I select only certain updates?

Is it all right to select only certain updates instead of downloading and installing all the 90 updates that my Kubuntu requires? Will that cause problems later on?

This is [urgent] cos according to the conditions of my internet package i have to do this before midnight i.e the last day of this month. (yeah, that kind of sound like a fairy tale.)

I think you can uncheck those you don't want in update-manager or via kpackagekit

If some do occur in the future you can easily install the dependencies you need.
