Hi, complete linux newbie here so bear with me.
My pc
hdd0 750gb sata (as ide), - data drive, 400gb used
hdd1 750gb sata (as ide), - install drive, partition 0 (60gb): xp, partision 1 (60gb): win7 rest of disk unallocated
when I try and install
if i use side by side option it auto selects hdd0, repartitions and puts ubuntu on the new partition but still boots up in win7 loader as thats what the bios is set to do - i want ubunto on hdd1
if i manually set the partitions 60gb for root and 15gb for swap on hdd0, the ubuntu boot loader isn't set
can some kind soul tell me what to do, bearing in mind i am a complete novice to linux, thanks
