What have I done?

Hi,

I am runnings Jaunty 64 bit. Very sorry if this is in the wrong place, please feel free to move if it is.
Some how when installing something I have affected jaunty's sound control. when pressing the volume up and down keys the "jaunty notification" in the top right changes. This however doesn't affect the actual volume it did use to. Unfortunately I don't know what to reinstall. Any ideas any one?

Could you tell us exactly what you've installed last?

This sounds more like a regular update going wrong, screwing up an audio library function.

solved it I think it was down to installing some of the ubuntu studio settings with out pulse audio running.
