I have an RTL8137L USB wifi card, under 8.04 it works fine; and, if it were practical to do so, I'd just run 8.04 on the netbbook. However, I am dealing with an Everex Cloudbook, and 9.04 supports the VIA chipsets so much better, that I would either have to disassemble the laptop to change out the wifi module (9.04), or do with out direct rendering support (8.xx).

Has anyone gotten this wifi chipset to behave in Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackelope? If so, how, or link to a guide? I'd prefer to not have to compile a kernel.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Bumping myself up, I'm hoping to not have to replace the wifi, its a real pita to get to on this netbook.

If anyone has solved an issue similar to this I'd be open to suggestions outside of kernel compiling (I just don't want to have to do that on an ongoing maintenance hassle).
