View Full Version : [ubuntu] problems writing to NAS after upgrade

hey there,

I'm running FreeNAS and have an external HDD plugged into it.

When I mount it from my newly upgraded Jaunty install, I can browse to the drive, create folders on it etc and upload files.

If however I try to copy a large folder (say 400mb) the transfer halts and won't continue.

Ordinarily i'd just put this down to the drive plugged into and not Ubuntu but for some reason, the halted transfer totally locks the computer as well -- I can't close apps, can't even use the application menu or the launcher to start new programs.

Any thoughts on where to look to track down what might be causing the problem? I tried copying the folder to another location and it worked fine - it's just to this external USB HDD shared on the FreeNAS system.

Cheers

Lee
