View Full Version : [ubuntu] Removing entries from right-click context menu

I'm trying to remove items from nautilus' right-click context menu.

Not the "open with" entries; those are easy to edit. But I want to remove the following:

Folders: "Sharing Options", "Send To", and "Make Link"
Files: "Send To" and "Make Link"

I find I never use these options (if I want to make a link, I use the command line), and it's a pain when I keep misclicking for "Rename", "Create Archive" or "Open Terminal".

I've looked on and off for quite some time, but I can't seem to find any advice on making such edits.

Well, months later and I've still found nothing on how to do this... it's actually kind of annoying, since I keep accidentally hitting one of the entries I don't need.

If there's a full-menu customizer, that would be perfect...

Try this out. I think it helps.

To remove send to (and I think sharing options)

Go to Ubuntu Software Center an click "installed software" and search:

nautilus-sendto
nautilus-sendto-empathy
nautilus-share

and remove them and restart ubuntu

This shows how to remove the copyto and sendto entries.
Somewhere to look around anyway.
