View Full Version : [ubuntu] Second keyboard not working after 8.0.4 -> 9.04 upgrade

Hey All,

I can't capitalize anything on the right side of the keyboard anymore!

Like most of the folks on my old team at Riverbed, I use two keyboards. We do this because it doubles our productivity (really!). This setup worked out of the box w/ 8.0.4 Ubuntu. After I upgraded to 9.0.4, the shift key would exhibit this behavior:

Press and hold shift on first keyboard.
Press any shiftable key on second keyboard, lets say we hit 'a'. The shift fails to raise 'a' to 'A'.
Press any other shiftable key. Lets say we hit 'b'. The shift key raises that to 'B'.

All kidding aside, this has actually been bothering me for a few days and I haven't had any luck, screwing around with the X11 configs or changing the keyboard layout.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? I understand this is a nonstandard request, so I'm not looking for answers, per se, but some direction would be appreciated.

What was the utility to dump the Xkb codes, something like dumpkeys but for xorg? Are there any other places I should go check?
