lib<pkg-name>-dev lib<pkg-name>-doc ?

Hello Folks,

I just wanted to know a little more about apt-get functionality

when i say apt-get install lib<pkg-name>

it will prompt for several things like

lib<pkg-name>-dev lib<pkg-name>-doc lib<pkg-name>-dpg and another few more .

what exactly are they . can u guys direct me to any site to know more about them please
