View Full Version : [ubuntu] Jaunty: Kernel 2.6.28 wont boot

Hello,

I did a distribution upgrade from Intrepid to Jaunty a few days ago, and it seems that my machine won't boot off kernel 2.6.28, I can still boot using an older (2.6.27) kernel.
Upon selecting the 2.6.28 kernel it goes through "Starting up..." and "Loading, please wait..." and then hangs there, with the caps-lock and scroll-lock buttons flashing, until such a time where I've decided I've waited long enough and do a hard shutdown of my machine. I also tried installing the 2.6.29 kernel with a similar outcome.
While this isn't a major issue, it's a little niggling annoyance and if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
