Hi to all,

I am new to Ubuntu, and wish to use it as the operating system on which to install (compile) and run the WRF numerical weather forecasting model.

I have installed on Fedora 3, but I would like to switch to an operating system which is dedicated to being free, yet remains professional. Ubuntu's philosophy certainly looks true to these ideals. And I have been seriously surpised at the ease of installation and the complex nature of Ubuntu. Everything just seems to work.

Has anyone else attempted to install and run WRF on Ubuntu? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, and perhaps it is not a bad idea to work together to optimise results.

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome,

Enkosi, Theo
