I can figure out what is going wrong after upgrade to 9.04. I did a fresh install, too and I have the same problem. After boot, grub menu comes up and when I hit windows XP, I get the error that is not bootable.
I tried SuperGrub, and I was able to log on to windows, but it did not fix the problem. I tried MBRFix from windows, no result either.

Had a similar problem after installing 9.04. In 8.10, my MS windows drive was /sda; in 9.04, it's /sdc. Had to go into my fstab and change all the (former) /sda entries to /sdc. Also had to go into menu.lst and change the boot entries as well.

Thank you.

I had to finish a project so I reinstalled windows and Ubuntu. Good thing that I have a separate home partition for Ubuntu.

Sorry I had to do it. I'm a designer an I'm using 20/20 software that runs only in windows](*,):-x:evil::twisted::mad:
