View Full Version : [ubuntu] Cannot connect to college network, keeps trying to connect

April 28th, 2009, 09:58 PM

I'm having a problem with ubuntu on college :(
It works without a problem in windows7 but not in ubuntu.
When i try to connect i get a box asking for my credentials (wich i type in, 100% sure they are correct) and leave the rest (its wpa2 if i'm not mistaken, will check next time).
but when i press connect, it keeps trying (according to the logo) but nothing happens.

How can it be solved? :(
if you need any more info, tell me and i will provide
oh, someone else asked it, its not for file sharing, but for internet acces mainly :)

verify with the network admin if it's actually wpa2 TKIP or AES or both.

i am now at home so i can't check but i will tomorow :)
but no packages should be installed specificly for connecting to windows servers right (don't think so but i want to be sure as i"m kinda new to ubuntu :))

i had a similar problem, i simply needed to change those settings.

you also don't need any extra's.
