My school makes me use wireless in the apartments. It's a real pain but hey, what can you do.

I just got a new Dell Studio XPS with an atheros card that works "out of the box" with jaunty. When I was at home with our wpa setup i had no problems. I came back to school and ubuntu drops the connection every 15 seconds or so then reconnects. I think there is more than one beacon and it keeps connecting to different ones. Each time it reconnects it has a different signal strength. I have tried locking it onto the mac address in network manager with no avail.

Is there a way to disable hoping like this?

Also, it worked great in hardy with a usb adapter I had on my old desktop. That was running through ndiswrapper.

Any ideas?
