I know i can resize them individually but this is not what i'm looking for. I can fit 9 shortcuts top to bottom. They're quite big. I was wondering is there a way that i can default any shortcuts created to be smaller than this?

Open up your home folder or some other folder using the file browser in gnome, then go to Edit -> Preferences, under views change the 'Icon View Defaults' to a percentage lower than 100, that should do it. Enjoy!

I know it doesn't make a lot of sense but thats how its changed...

Thats exactly what i was looking for however is there a way i can bring it down by any amount i want? next down from 100% is 66% and they are almost too small

Agreed! I'd like to see about 75% of normal!

I'll take that as there isn't a way to do it :P Annoying. 100% is grand but i do think a little smaller and it would make the desktop look bigger and less cluttered
