Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope updates icon?

I keep checking update manager and seeing updates but theres no icon in the notification area or anything to tell me about new updates that I can see. Does 9.04 not have something like that?

Update notifications have changed in Jaunty, you only get notifications of non-security updates once a week.
