OK, had an old desktop that the kids were using was running XP however was purchased at a fly- by-night shop which loaded it with a counterfeit version of XP. I was tired of seeing Billy's message about how i have been a victim of piracy "Got it Bill!" so I back up my documents and pictures and loaded 8.10 on the whole disk, flushed the prirated XP completely. Worked like a charm except for one thing ubuntu will not start the wireless adapter (Not usb but hardware CARD). I do not know what brand it is and I cannot go back to windows to try to turn it on so what do I do? Please help.
