View Full Version : Will Ubuntu Implement support for OpenCL API ?

I've been reading blogs and articles talking about how M$ and the fruit company are supporting Implementing support for OpenCL API that will use the GPU to allow computers to handle more tasks and run faster. does ubuntu or any other linux distro have plans to incorporate opencl in upcoming releases? does ubuntu 9.04 already support this?

This would be up to the Linux kernel developers.


However, if Canonical Ltd. (the company in charge of Ubuntu) assigned a few people to help out with the job, that would reflect very well on Ubuntu, so I'm in favor of the idea.
