I've been using Ubuntu 9.04 for the past 2 days. Yesterday evening i did an upgrade of the packages and there was an upgrade for udev which was available for which i clicked ok. But after downloading the upgrade packages, when upgrade was going on the udev package upgrade failed and upgrade-manager exited with the error that udev upgradation failed.
And after this my system has become unusable, when i rebooted i was put into a console login with a read-only filesystem. I'm not able to do anything. Is there a way out ? Can i revert the upgrade of udev ?
