Hello.

I did fresh install of Ubuntu 9.05 Desktop and during the init process the install manager asked for IP address, gateway, hostname etc which i entered in the prompts. It also asked for a user name and i
created an initial user.

when the machine reboots it the networking was not configured and when i tried to login as root i was not able to login. is there any command such as system-config-network (which i use on FC6) in ubuntu ?
anyway i can login to a giu networking tool for editing the networking details..

i'm able to invoke
gnome-nettool
but this is just for viewing.

any way one can do network configuration ?

thx.
