ok....so...I'm running kubuntu 8.10...
I went to upgrade and got an error saying that moodle failed to install. (sorry I don' have the exact error, my wife told me it was on the screen, and my 2 y/o had pushed something to clear it b4 I got to the computer....grrrr)
Anyhoo.....went to upgrade again...got some error saying that packages were broken, and I could only do a partial upgrade.....now...here's the problem I'm facing....
I've tried via the update manger...via the Alt. install iso....and tried using the command sudo apt-get dist-upgrade...all three freeze once they get to Preconfiguring packages ...
Any thoughts folks?
I can't afford to loose anything by doing a fresh install....
So...help?....lol

Thnx folks.....for anything you can suggest!

Something like that happened to me too.

Just out of curiosity, does the OS now say your hard disk is full? Before the upgrade, I had 25 GB free space on my hard disk, but when it aborted I had no free space whatsoever.

Maybe that has something to do with it?

Nope...I still have over 12Gb left....only problem with the system is I can't upgrade...everything else seems to be fine....
