It's got plenty of songs but it would be nice to have a Banshee plugin, now that Last.fm is no longer internationally free.

Yeh. Hopefully Grooveshark (http://www.groovesahrk.com/) gets more attention and some developers start integrating Grooveshark in to their programs.

Wow looks cool...except when I visited the site to try it well it doesn't let me:

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.

So if it's actually very good then lucky for you the people in the U.S. but if not then use Grooveshark (http://www.groovesahrk.com/)!

Seconded. Very nice looking, all sorts of music and a functional, minimal UI. I hope it catches on.

Well that's great and I do still enjoy it too don't get me wrong but the thing is their going to start charging soon for their services which some people like me are just too cheap/poor to pay for. Of course if you like Last.fm (which many people do) and your willing to pay then great for you :).

:( Bad news. Just like in Pandora they don't allow countries outside of the U.S. to use their service. It seems Grooveshark (http://grooveshark.com) is the only alternative for me.

i'm more excited to see Libra.fm get off the ground. Either way though, I don't use any of their services. I don't see the point. I'm actually kinda tired social networks all together.

Lol I don't use Grooveshark (http://www.groovesahrk.com/) as a social network. I don't have an account yet actually:confused:. It just makes it easy to find new music that I might interested in.:guitar:

Why look for an alternative when Last.fm has set the standard?

Well personally I prefer Grooveshark (http://www.grooveshark.com/) over Last.fm because of the UI but as I explained many times if you simply can't really afford to spend more money because of the recession then you can look at Grooveshark (http://www.grooveshark.com/) as an alternative.

Lucky you :). Canadian users can't use it and I know a couple other Countries can't either.

Ohh yea , That's nice I like the linking capabilities! And the interface is nice as well.

First three I looked up, it found without issues and I purposefully looked for more or less obscure artists.

How do you initiate continuous play of a particular genera? Like radio , If I want to listen to Easy Listening is there a way to type in Yanni and have it just keep playing the same music stylistically? Or do you have to create playlists?

Hmm not exactly sure as I just found out about it yesterday but probably you need to make an account. I'll ask my friend Google.

Thanks for the link. Though I am not a great fan of flash, atleast it is playing under linux. It is great that I can access it inspite of being non-us/uk/etc based. Also no nagging ads.

I looked at it a bit, and I'm loving it. A few glitches but it's still nice. I'd still like to know a few pointers on advantages from Playlist if anybody can think of them.

a good thing about Grooveshark is that if you have the adblock extension there's no need of paying the few extra bucks in order to remove the annoying ads c: but I do wish the grooveshark flashplayer worked on linux...for that i'd definitely pay the extra
