ok, on week end i installed ubuntu 9 (32bit)
then i found article (kde vs gnome) http://psychocats.net/ubuntu/kdegnome
then i found this (http://psychocats.net/ubuntu/kde)

then it worked fine (ubuntu becomes kubuntu) which i didn't like as much, so i read this
http://psychocats.net/ubuntu/puregnome (removing kubuntu from ubuntu)

wrong thing i did is (i was logged on to kde when i run above mentioned commands in terminal)

there was screen poped up about x session termination or something (which i clicked yes)
atonce black screen pops up and i re-started pc
apparently ubuntu came back but now, synaptic is no more working, its giving error and saying
""
dpkg was interuppted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure-a' to corrent problem
e_cache open failed, kindly report
""

ok, i understand, i sucked but, someone please let me know how to fix this because
i have already trying typing the command in terminal 'sudo dpkg --configure-a' and nothing is happening
anxiously waiting, regards, lala

ok, i found solution luckily,
1- restart, and at booting load menu, there was a command for safe mode / restore
2- just restore and then pick (fix the packages type option)
3- it will fix automatically and then do party
;)
