Hey guys,
I have an IBM R40 laptop that was working pretty damn awesome in 8.10. I recently upgraded to 9.04 and now everything is working a LOT slower.

Its acting like it has about 1/3 the processing power it had before the change.

Is anyone else experiencing this? What can we do to remedy this crap?

So far the only benefit I'm seeing is that the wifi network manager actually works fast and well. It was inconsistent for my card in the 8.04/8.10 build so it would sometimes connect to my wifi and sometimes not.

I had the same problem, Jaunty discontinued support for some Intel drivers, but you can get them following this: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReinhardTartler/X/RevertingIntelDriverTo2.4
