What would be stopping me from installing Ubuntu 8.04 on my computer when I can install and use it perfectly in VMware and VirtualBox? The last time I tried to install it on my computer I got past the keyboard config and all of that dialog mess, but then my screen pops up with a bunch of slanted lines, like my screen totally went out. But I am able to reinstall WindowsXP on my computer.
I always figured since I was able to install it in a virtual machine, and a 6 year old computer that I would be able to install it in a 6 month old computer.
Any help would be nice. I am using the E-Machine EL1200-01e compatible of using Linux according to the manufacturers website.
