Dual Boot: 9.04 32 bit and 64 bit

I want to set up a dual boot ubuntu system with a shared /home directory on a separate partition. In particular, I want to be able to boot to ubuntu 9.04 64 bit and 32 bit, but have them both share the one /home partition. Would this work? I don't know enough about how ubuntu works to know.
