I've decided to do a fresh install of Jaunty Jackalope and would like to know if there's a simple way of backing up just the Documents, Pictures, Music and Videos folders? I have very few files in each of those folders at the moment and don't need to back up any programs.

Also, when I boot my computer from the live CD, do I press F2 and select the second item from the boot menu to select the CD drive to boot from? I have a Pangolin panp4n.

Thanks

Brian

there is many way to backup your data

- burn cd or dvd
- copy it to a usb key
- create a gmail account and send it there

I took one of your suggestions formol and saved my main home folders to a cd since I had so few files to save.

I also just completed a fresh install of Jaunty and everything works perfectly. I cannot believe how fast it installed from the live CD!!

I'll be doing fresh installs from now on for every new distro. I had no errors at all during the fresh install like when I upgraded to Jaunty.
