9.04 WUBI installation failure

Trying to install within Win XP. After 100% completion, I get an error which references the file:
.\Local Settings\Temp\wubi-9.04-rev128.log

I saw another few threads about people complaining that WUBI wasn't very well implemented.

I checked the burned ISO for errors, and the disk was OK.

I uninstalled the old Ubuntu app within Add/Remove software, rebooted, and tried a second time. Same results.

Yep same error same log file.

installing on XP media box,

have turned off hide file extensions for know=n file tyes and running as adminisrator, ensureing disks are not shared and full file/folder permissions as well.

Let me know what else i can try, a USB install.....Anywho. Hope to hear about a fix cause I dont like xp media centr edition, auto updates killed my install and I had to system restore it...Cheers

I had a similar problem with Vista when trying to install Kubuntu, but it installed Ubuntu without any problems, that I can tell.
