View Full Version : [ubuntu] Disappointing boot time in Jaunty

Hi All

I've just upgraded to Jaunty from Intrepid, and while everything's working fine now on my Acer Aspire 5920G laptop, I have been a little disappointed with the boot times that I am seeing. It's not that they are much slower than with Intrepid, it's just not nearly as quick as everyone else seems to be reporting!

I did upgrade rather than clean install, and subsequently converted my partition to ext4 from ext3, but my bootup takes over 30s. I understand that I don't get the full benefit of ext4 until the files are replaced.

My bootchart's here (http://filebin.ca/wgseog), has anyone got any tips on how I can get things moving a little faster?

Thanks in advance!

Charlie
