I have a problem =)

I have Asus x51RL. Its dvd-rw doesn't work. I insert a CD/dvd and Ubuntu doesn't mount it automatically.

I'd installed Ubuntu from a CD.

DVD-RW works correctly.

My installing way: 8.04 -> 8.10 -> 9.04, because of "BusyBox" and console in 8.10 and 9.04.

Hi there.

Same problem on my side on the same laptop; upgraded from 8.04 to 9.04 from inside the 8.04 as a fresh installation from 9.04 cd cannot be done due to the fact that the cdrom drive isn't recognized at all.

After the upgrade everything works smoothly except the cdrom drive that doesn't even appear in the hw list of the system.

I think some kernel module is missing; any suggestion?

Thanks!
