I'm getting this error during installation about 41%.

The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk:

[Errno 5] Input/output error

This particular error is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, or a faulty hard disk. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers), to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment.

What is the problem guys?

Tried, but no luck :(

Is it a bug or what?

Actually I discovered a funny thing.... When I burned the 9.04 RC I used a Verbatim DVD -R media and that worked perfectly. Same media, same burner on 9.04 final gave me the same error...

Hereīs the catch... Then I tried burning the 9.04 final on a CD media, NO PROBLEMS! :D

Dunno if that could help you, but now itīs working at my end, besides the generel 5.1 digital sound problem :)

I get the same issue. I always burn to CDs rather than DVD's so I know thats not the issue.

I think this is a bug!

I tried installing on two different laptops, I tried downloading the ISO from two different sites, and used different CD media.

I saw the issue with all the above and tried it several times!

I got around it by installing 8.04 first, then upgrading.

8.04 had no problems at all installing on the same systems!!

I managed to solve it with me! Just take out all ram sticks apart from 1.
