I'm certain the details are somewhere, I'm just not sure where to look. I read the features here:

Sounds like it's slimmed down with the netbook UI. What I'm wondering is:

- is the kernal tweaked for Atom performance?
- were changes made to the file system for better performance on SDD?
- are there any changes in graphic drivers or performance under netbook remix?
- was anything done to better manage battery life?

If it's just the UI changes and some missing packages for disk space, I just assume run the mainline release.

The user interface (netbook launcher) is the main difference. It is the same system "under the hood" (kernel, filesystem, power manager, etc). You can read about the exact differences by comparing these lists:
